In addition to scheduled and on-demand recordings, DVM can automatically record when motion is detected in any specified region. For example, operators can specify automatic recording when a cardholder attempts to enter an unauthorized area, when a fire alarm pull station is activated, or when an alarm is received from critical HVAC or process control equipment.

Recorded images can include not only the incident, but also what happened immediately before and after, providing a more complete picture to enhance your investigational process and outcome. Unlike watermarks, digital signatures do not alter the original files, preventing evidentiary loss. DVM provides a complete audit trail of all operator actions and system events, recording all changes made to the DVM configuration. When used in conjunction with site chain-of-custody processes and procedures, digital signatures and the audit trail greatly enhance the evidentiary weight of a recording in a legal proceeding.
