Instead of despairing, he started to go out of body to send healing to his physical body, and used this time as a way of focusing on the afterlife, investigating it in out-of-body experiences and in lucid dreams.
In many ways this is the book I've been waiting for William Buhlman to write. It shows that he's got some writing experience now, as this latest book still keeps the 2 part format, but flows much In William Buhlman was diagnosed with stage four cancer of the tonsil and lymph nodes. It shows that he's got some writing experience now, as this latest book still keeps the 2 part format, but flows much more nicely than his previous works.
To many readers of OBE and new age books much of what he found won't be totally new BUT the way that Buhlman wrote this book paints a much more coherent picture of the afterlife. I was sceptical of the fictional character approach but I must say it totally worked. Writing this book through a 3rd person character allowed Buhlman to step back and detach from what he was going through with his own cancer.
Fans of Buhlman will find that a few parts of the story will remind them of his actual OBE experiences documented in his previous works. Who knows if everyone's journey to the afterlife will be like this.
After all, everyone's journey on Earth is markedly different. However, I do believe having any map is a million times better than no map at all. Therefore, this book is highly recommended! Oct 15, Grumpus rated it really liked it Shelves: audiobook , spiritual.
Whoa, this may be a new genre. Or maybe just to me—spiritual fiction. Although it was not what I thought it was going in, I enjoyed it immensely. Nov 15, Dave Zebian rated it it was amazing. This book is a must-read for anyone who's going to die which is all of us and isn't sure what they will find on the other side which is most of us. The author is an adept out-of-body explorer, and I can tell you from my own explorations that what you learn "out there" is true.
Buhlman has the ability to stay out a long time and bring the information back with him, so it's fascinating to get a first-hand account of what it's like on the other side of death. Near-death experiencers only get a g This book is a must-read for anyone who's going to die which is all of us and isn't sure what they will find on the other side which is most of us. Near-death experiencers only get a glimpse of it; explorers like Buhlman take the grand tour.
The book begins with a fictional account of a man's experiences after death. Buhlman should stick to nonfiction. But the information is golden. I have read all of Buhlman's books, and each one has completely new information. Unlike many nonfiction authors, he does not simply dress up the same old information in new clothing. May 18, D. Not what I expected. Adventures In The afterlife, was not what I had expected.
It was so much more. Most people travel down the path of life, never knowing who they are. When young they see themselves one way, and when older most reflect back to the days of their youth to remember who they were.
Although there are many that veer off the traditional path and search for answers. Of course I refer to the readers of this book and others like it. My thanks goes out to all of the explorers for truth, a Not what I expected. I loved the book. Apr 27, Deepak Govari rated it liked it. Mar 17, Erin rated it liked it. The first section of the book was okay, but I wasn't terribly impressed. The second section, however , was of great interest especially the chapter on helping people through the death process.
I would recommend this book for the second part.
Adventures Beyond the Body: How to Experience Out-of-Body Travel
This show explores how to initiate conscious out of body experiences with researcher and author, William Buhlman. Since this interview after one week of practice I had my first conscious out of body experience. Now I am hooked. During the last six years he has conducted an international out-of-body experience survey that includes over 16, participants from 32 countries. In this interview and in his books William shares the nuts and bolts of how to travel beyond your body to experience profound spiritual breakthroughs that by their very nature are life changing. It seems to me that there is a very small window that rests between theta and delta in which conscious exit is easily possible.
