They rely on using the 26 rudiemtns in various ways and in various time signatures, combining accent and tap patterns, and using various stickings to create a unique, classic snare drum sound. Charles "Charley" Wilcoxon was an American drum teacher and drum method book author. He wrote several influential books on rudimental drumming that are still used by drum teachers today. He started teaching at 12 and was touring at 14 with the vaudeville show "Spring Maid". He then founded his own music store in the s, [1] where he lathed custom drum sticks.
